I'm really enjoying blogging but I have to say I'm a bit thin skinned. And it's not really getting better. When I post a photo with my hand in it, someone will write that I have "fat hands." When I post a smoothie recipe, someone writes that it "looks disgusting." I've gotten complaints about including my pets in one post, another about "cutesy stupid writing" on my pics and another about how gross my recipes look.

I guess I expected that kind of thing when I started getting hundreds of comments a day but I get just a couple.

It's enough to make me want to put an oven mitt on my stubby hands (I always wanted long, slender model hands but these serve me well enough).

Does anyone else get a lot of negativity? How do you feel about it?

I know this topic is old, but i've been lurking and reading some of your older entries.
I've read some of those "nasty comments" on your blog... and they don't even know what they are talking about! you specifically stated pineapple "in its one juice" and they keep complaining about corn syrup. And so many other issues that they just keep complaining about but clearly haven't actually read the post.
Only the cowards don't leave links on their names... you notice that they leave their name but no link to find them through. (not that I want to be a part of their sad little world after the only side I've seen of them is a nasty little troll...
Its silly that trolls still roam the [earth]/blogosphere trying to bring down anyone they can. You think they'd get over themselves by now... I just don't understand how people can be so bitter and pissed off all the time.
You are doing a fine job on your blog, and don't let anyone else convince you any differently.

I think that it is just rude when people leave nasty comments. Where does it really get them anyway? I have not had any really nasty comments on my blog, but if I did, I think I would just delete it and try to "consider the source." Who needs people like that in their lives - even in their blog lives?

I have never been on the end of negative comments, nor have I ever made any, but those that do have way too much time on their hands. They ususally are angry about something within themselves and their outlet is to take it out on someone else. Since this is fairly anonymous, how simple!
I always wanted long slender model hands too. But that is not what God gave me. But they work well, cook well, caress well. Who cares what they look like? Your blog is great. Don't change a thing. It is how you feel about yourself inside that counts, not what someone else thinks,
