Shoo! I thought I was the only one. It must be all the back to school activities that has turned my thoughts to the holidays. I am ready for Fall!

Here's the best holiday dinner for me:

#1 This is the finest #1, the KEY ingredient to the success...Good Friends, the ones that are more like your family than your own family.

#2 A main course I can cook that doesn't stress me out...baked ham or roasted chicken. Something I have cooked so many times that I don't have to give it any thought to it's outcome.

#3 A large bowl of creamy mashed potatoes.

#4 Pot Luck Side Dishes & Desserts - most folks want to contribute to the success of a party, so I let them. It's less for me to cook and more opportunity to explore other's family recipes.

#5 An after dinner game: either holiday song trivia games, or conversational cards that encourage us to share good memories & goofy stuff about ourselves.

I agree as well, I truly do think that what makes the Holidays, is simple heart warming food, fun, family and friends. Also just that wonderful warm feeling I get hearing the Christmas song's I grew up on and all of the beautiful lights. I like the idea of the Christmas song trivia

I remember that I googled 'christmas trivia games' or something close to it and came up with some fun stuff.

Last year, I had a couple of choir members over to the house along with 'count carry a tune' folks. I MADE EVERYBODY sing the ends of the verses...

we had a blast.

I bet that was a great deal of gut busting fun.

As you know by now, LOL, either ham or turkey, mashed potatoes, yams, green beans, grannies bread and your famous peanut butter pie!
